About VUIM

The Virginia University of Integrative Medicine was founded in 2004 as an institution of higher education designed to offer Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine education to students from around the world. The University is certified to operate by the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia (SCHEV), approved for licensure by the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education for the State of New Jersey, approved to offer programs by the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission, and is institutionally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). 

The University offers programs at both the Master and Doctoral Levels in the English, Korean, and Chinese languages: 

  • Master of Science in Acupuncture (MAc) program 
  • Master of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (MAcHM) program 
  • Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM)
  • Doctor of Acupuncture (DAC)
  • Doctor of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (DAcHM)
  • Certificate in Herbal Medicine (CCHM) program 

VUIM operates three campus locations, serving the communities of the Washington DC Metropolitan Region, the New York Tri-State Region, and the Atlanta, Georgia Metro Region:
