New Location of VUIM in Duluth, Georgia

Fairfax, VA – On February 8th, 2022, VUIM received approval from the U.S Department of Education to begin operating its new classroom operations in Duluth, GA as the university’s designated additional location.

The University has been in the process of exploring a new geographic location of operation since Q1 of 2020. The University’s Chief Executive Officer and members of its Board have explored the possibility of growing into a new geographic region to continue the growth and development of the University and its work toward achieving its mission on a broader scale. The University is driven by its mission to produce educated healthcare practitioners highly skilled in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine, trained to provide the community with affordable healthcare services while fostering the growth and practice of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine. The new location in Georgia will achieve the University’s mission while contributing to the broader needs of the relevant patient communities in the United States at large. As the demand for qualified East Asian Medicine practitioners continues to rise within the United States, VUIM is actively pursuing meeting the demand driven by the increased mainstream acceptance of “complementary” or “integrative” health interventions. Today, well-respected institutions, including the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, and others, all have integrative medicine centers and services that include herbal clinics, acupuncture, and more.

The university is actively preparing the location for future on-campus coursework, labs, and clinical training. Fortunately, recruitment and enrollment of students have already begun through the facilitation of online courses over the past few terms.

In the years ahead, the university will continue to develop its presence within Georgia and the Atlanta Metropolitan region, actively pursuing local collaborations and partnerships with organizations to offer unique training and employment opportunities for students and graduates, respectively.
