New Location of VUIM in Ridgefield, New Jersey
Fairfax, VA – On January 29th, 2021, VUIM received approval from the U.S Department of Education to operate its classrooms in Ridgefield, New Jersey, as the university’s designated additional location.
In 2020, after a careful review of the institution’s student population and growth prospects, the university’s executive leadership made the decision to begin formalizing its New Jersey classrooms as an Additional Location capable of supporting 100% of its program offerings. Previously, students living in the New York Tri-state area were only permitted to complete up to 50% of their degree programs through the University’s New Jersey location while commuting to the institution’s main campus in Fairfax, Virginia for the remainder of their program of study – including 100% of their hands on, clinical training. The formalization of the classrooms into an Additional Location approved by its accreditor, the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and the US Department of Education (USDE) will allow current and future students the opportunity to complete 100% of their qualifying degree programs at the location of their choice, giving students more flexibility in pursuing and completing their education with VUIM. The university has been actively preparing the location for future on-campus coursework, labs and clinical training. The inaugural class will start fully on April 5th, 2021.
In the years ahead, the university will continue to develop our presence in New Jersey and through the New York Tri-state region, actively pursuing local collaborations and partnerships with organizations to offer unique training and employment opportunities for students and graduates, respectively.
